Job Description

Welcome to Ingles Markets, a family-owned grocery store chain with over 200 locations across the Southeastern United States. We are currently seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team and help us maintain financial records and ensure accuracy in our accounting processes.   1. Maintain accurate financial records: The Bookkeeper will be responsible for keeping track of all financial transactions and ensuring that they are accurately recorded in the company's books.
  2. Monitor and reconcile accounts: The Bookkeeper will regularly review and reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other accounts to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
  3. Process payments and invoices: The Bookkeeper will be responsible for processing payments to vendors, as well as issuing and tracking invoices to customers.
  4. Prepare financial reports: The Bookkeeper will generate financial reports on a regular basis, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  5. Assist with budgeting and forecasting: The Bookkeeper will work closely with the management team to help create and maintain budgets and financial forecasts for the company.
  6. Ensure compliance with accounting principles: The Bookkeeper will follow generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies to ensure accuracy and consistency in all financial records.
  7. Communicate with vendors and customers: The Bookkeeper will communicate with vendors and customers regarding payments, invoices, and any financial inquiries.
  8. Collaborate with other team members: The Bookkeeper will work closely with other members of the finance team, as well as other departments, to ensure smooth and accurate financial processes and reporting.
  9. Identify and resolve issues: The Bookkeeper will proactively identify and resolve any financial issues or discrepancies that may arise.
  10. Maintain confidentiality: The Bookkeeper will handle sensitive financial information and must maintain confidentiality at all times.
  11. Stay updated on industry trends: The Bookkeeper will stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure compliance and improve processes.
  12. Provide excellent customer service: The Bookkeeper will provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, responding promptly and professionally to any requests or inquiries.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Accounting Or Finance.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Bookkeeping Or Related Field.

  • Proficiency In Accounting Software Such As Quickbooks Or Xero.

  • Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Accurately Maintain Financial Records.

  • Prior Experience In A Retail Or Grocery Industry Preferred.
