Job Description

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced DevOps Engineer/Kafka Admin to join our dynamic team. As a DevOps Engineer/Kafka Admin at ING, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our complex and highly available Kafka infrastructure. If you are a self-motivated problem solver with a passion for automation and continuous improvement, and have a strong background in DevOps and Kafka administration, we want to hear from you!

  1. Design, implement, and maintain the Kafka infrastructure for ING Group.
  2. Monitor the health and performance of the Kafka system and proactively identify and troubleshoot any issues.
  3. Develop and implement automation processes to improve efficiency and reliability of the Kafka infrastructure.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  5. Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies and best practices to improve the Kafka infrastructure.
  6. Create and maintain technical documentation for the Kafka infrastructure, including configuration and troubleshooting guides.
  7. Ensure security and compliance standards are met for the Kafka infrastructure.
  8. Work closely with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the Kafka system.
  9. Participate in on-call rotation and respond to any system alerts or incidents.
  10. Mentor and train other team members on Kafka administration and best practices.
  11. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in Kafka technology.
  12. Communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide regular updates on the Kafka infrastructure.
  13. Take ownership of problems and drive them to resolution in a timely manner.
  14. Collaborate with other DevOps engineers and teams to improve overall system performance and stability.
  15. Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures related to Kafka administration and DevOps.

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge Of Kafka: The Devops Engineer / Kafka Admin Must Be Proficient In Working With Kafka, Including Installation, Configuration, And Maintenance Of Kafka Clusters.

  • Experience With Devops Tools: The Candidate Should Have Strong Experience With Devops Tools Such As Ansible, Terraform, Docker, And Kubernetes To Support The Deployment And Monitoring Of Kafka Clusters.

  • Understanding Of Ci/Cd Pipelines: Ing Group Values Candidates Who Have Experience With Building And Maintaining Ci/Cd Pipelines To Enable Seamless And Automated Deployment Of Kafka Applications.

  • Familiarity With Cloud Platforms: The Devops Engineer / Kafka Admin Should Have Experience Working With Cloud Platforms Such As Aws, Azure, Or Google Cloud To Deploy And Manage Kafka Clusters.

  • Strong Troubleshooting Skills: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Excellent Troubleshooting Skills To Identify And Resolve Issues Related To Kafka Clusters, Including Performance Tuning And Optimizing Resource Utilization.
