Job Description

As a Retail Space Planner, you will play a crucial role in creating and optimizing the layout and design of our stores to maximize sales and customer experience. We are seeking candidates with a strong understanding of retail space planning and a keen eye for design, who are also highly organized and able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.   1. Develop and implement strategic and creative retail space plans that align with IKEA's brand and business objectives.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, marketing, and operations, to understand their needs and incorporate them into the retail space plans.
  3. Utilize data analysis to identify trends and make data-driven decisions when creating and optimizing retail space plans.
  4. Conduct regular store visits to assess the effectiveness of current retail space plans and make necessary adjustments.
  5. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in retail space planning to continuously improve IKEA's store layouts.
  6. Communicate and present retail space plans to stakeholders, including upper management, to gain buy-in and support for proposed changes.
  7. Manage and maintain accurate documentation of all retail space plans, including layouts, fixtures, and product placement.
  8. Ensure compliance with all safety, accessibility, and legal regulations in the development of retail space plans.
  9. Train and mentor junior team members on retail space planning principles and practices.
  10. Collaborate with external partners, such as architects and contractors, to ensure the successful execution of retail space plans.
  11. Proactively identify and troubleshoot any issues or challenges with retail space plans and provide timely solutions.
  12. Monitor and evaluate the performance of retail space plans and make recommendations for improvements based on key performance indicators.
  13. Participate in the development and implementation of new store concepts and designs.
  14. Take ownership of the overall visual appearance and functionality of retail spaces, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable shopping experience for customers.
  15. Stay organized and prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Job Qualifications
  • Proficiency In Autocad And Other Design Software.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Interior Design Or Related Field.

  • At Least 3 Years Of Experience In Retail Space Planning, Preferably Within The Home Furnishing Industry.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Merchandising Principles And Trends In The Retail Industry.

  • Ability To Work Collaboratively With Cross-Functional Teams And Communicate Effectively With Stakeholders At All Levels.
