- Monitor and maintain a safe and secure environment for customers, co-workers, and property within the retail store.
- Implement and maintain security protocols and procedures to prevent and respond to potential security threats.
- Conduct regular patrols of the store to identify any potential safety hazards or security breaches.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to any security or safety incidents, including but not limited to theft, accidents, or medical emergencies.
- Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers to provide assistance and address any safety or security concerns.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of security incidents and report them to appropriate management.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the implementation and adherence to safety and security policies.
- Conduct regular training sessions for co-workers on safety and security protocols and procedures.
- Continuously assess and improve security measures to ensure the highest level of safety and security for all.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and trends in retail security and safety to proactively address potential risks.
- Coordinate with external security and law enforcement agencies when necessary.
- Participate in the development and implementation of emergency response plans.
- Provide excellent customer service and support IKEA's mission of creating a better everyday life for the many people.
- Adhere to all IKEA policies and procedures, including but not limited to security and safety guidelines.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management to maintain a safe and secure retail environment.
Experience In Retail Security: Candidates For This Role Should Have Prior Experience In Retail Security, Preferably In A Similar Setting Or Company. This Will Demonstrate Their Understanding Of Security Protocols And Procedures Within A Retail Environment.
Knowledge Of Safety Protocols: A Retail Security & Safety Associate Must Be Knowledgeable About Safety Protocols And Procedures, Especially Those Related To Fire, Emergency Situations, And Occupational Hazards. Candidates With Relevant Certifications Or Training In Safety Management Will Be Preferred.
Strong Communication Skills: Excellent Communication Skills Are Crucial For This Role As The Candidate Will Be Required To Interact With Customers, Colleagues, And Management Regularly. They Should Be Able To Communicate Effectively And Handle Conflicts Or Difficult Situations Calmly And Professionally.
Attention To Detail: Attention To Detail Is A Critical Skill For A Retail Security & Safety Associate As They Will Be Responsible For Monitoring And Identifying Potential Security Threats, Safety Hazards, And Other Issues Within The Store. Candidates Should Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Identify And Report Any Irregularities Or Suspicious Activities.
Physical Fitness And Ability To Work Flexible Hours: This Role May Require The Candidate To Stand, Walk, Or Patrol The Store For Extended Periods, Sometimes During Odd Hours. Therefore, Candidates Must Be Physically Fit And Able To Work Flexible Hours, Including Weekends And Holidays, As Per The Store's Schedule.
