- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently, following all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Load and unload merchandise from delivery trucks and move it to designated areas within the store.
- Keep track of inventory and ensure accurate placement of items using forklift.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
- Assist with customer service duties, such as helping customers with their purchases and answering any questions they may have.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to customer service, safety, and inventory management.
- Report any issues or malfunctions with the forklift immediately to the supervisor.
- Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure the smooth operation of the store.
- Attend training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to forklift operation.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times, representing the IKEA brand to customers and colleagues.
- Continuously identify and suggest process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Follow all company guidelines for proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to forklift operation.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
Valid Forklift Operator Certification: A Retail Forklift Driver At Ikea Should Possess A Valid Forklift Operator Certification To Ensure Safe And Efficient Operation Of Forklifts In The Store.
Prior Experience In Retail: Candidates Should Have Previous Experience Operating Forklifts In A Retail Environment, Preferably In A Furniture Or Home Goods Store.
Strong Communication Skills: Excellent Communication Skills Are Crucial For A Retail Forklift Driver To Effectively Coordinate With Other Store Employees And Handle Customer Inquiries.
Physical Fitness And Agility: As The Job Involves Long Hours Of Standing, Lifting Heavy Furniture, And Operating A Forklift, Candidates Should Be Physically Fit And Have Good Agility.
