Job Description

Welcome to IKEA! We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Retail Forklift Driver to join our team. As a Forklift Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our retail store, helping to move and organize merchandise and materials. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude and strong work ethic, who is able to thrive in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.   1. Operate forklift safely and efficiently to move and organize merchandise and materials within the retail store.
  2. Follow all safety protocols and procedures while operating the forklift.
  3. Load and unload merchandise from delivery trucks and transport it to the designated areas within the store.
  4. Ensure timely and accurate movement of merchandise to meet store and customer needs.
  5. Keep track of inventory using the forklift and report any discrepancies or damages to the appropriate personnel.
  6. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and storage areas.
  7. Assist with other tasks as needed, such as stocking shelves, assisting customers, and performing equipment maintenance.
  8. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure efficient workflow.
  9. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, customer service, and inventory management.
  10. Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  11. Meet productivity and efficiency targets set by management.
  12. Continuously improve forklift driving skills and stay up-to-date with any changes in forklift operation regulations.
  13. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
  14. Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
  15. Collaborate with other team members to ensure a positive and productive work environment.

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Forklift License: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Must Possess A Valid Forklift License From A Recognized Institution. This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has Undergone Proper Training And Is Knowledgeable About Safe Forklift Operation.

  • Previous Forklift Driving Experience: A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Operating A Forklift In A Retail Or Warehouse Setting Is Required For This Role. This Demonstrates The Candidate's Familiarity With The Equipment And Their Ability To Handle It In A Fast-Paced Environment.

  • Ability To Work In A Team: As A Forklift Driver In A Retail Setting, The Candidate Will Have To Work Closely With Other Employees Such As Store Associates And Warehouse Workers. The Ability To Communicate Effectively And Work Collaboratively As A Team Is Essential For This Role.

  • Physical Fitness: This Job Requires The Candidate To Be Physically Fit As They Will Be Required To Lift Heavy Items And Operate The Forklift For Long Periods. The Candidate Should Also Have Good Hand-Eye Coordination And Be Able To Maneuver The Forklift In Tight Spaces.

  • Attention To Detail: A Forklift Driver At Ikea Is Responsible For Moving And Organizing Merchandise In The Store. Therefore, Attention To Detail Is Crucial To Ensure That The Correct Products Are Delivered To The Right Location. The Candidate Should Be Able To Accurately Read And Follow Product Labels And Instructions.
