Job Description

IHOP is looking for a passionate, hardworking Sous Chef to join our team! As Sous Chef, you will be an integral part of the kitchen management team, working with the Head Chef to ensure the kitchen runs effectively and efficiently. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, managing a team of cooks, and ensuring the highest levels of food quality and presentation. To be successful in this role, you must have a passion for food, an eye for detail, and excellent organizational and communication skills.The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience as a chef in a high-volume kitchen, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service. A current ServSafe certification and a food handler’s license are also required. Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including managing a team of cooks.
  2. Ensure that the highest levels of food quality and presentation are maintained.
  3. Collaborate with the Head Chef to ensure the kitchen runs effectively and efficiently.
  4. Monitor and analyze the food inventory and supplies.
  5. Ensure that all kitchen staff are properly trained and adhere to the health and safety regulations.
  6. Develop and implement new recipes and menus.
  7. Evaluate and adjust recipes and cooking techniques as needed.
  8. Track and report on kitchen costs and performance.
  9. Provide excellent customer service to all guests.
  10. Maintain ServSafe certification and food handler’s license.
