Job Description

Welcome to IHOP, where every day starts with a smile and a stack of fluffy pancakes. We are currently seeking a dedicated and friendly individual to join our team as a Server. As a Server at IHOP, you will have the opportunity to provide exceptional customer service and create a memorable dining experience for our guests.   1. Greet and welcome guests with a friendly and positive attitude.
  2. Take and accurately enter food and beverage orders into the point of sale system.
  3. Offer menu recommendations and answer any questions or concerns guests may have.
  4. Provide excellent customer service by ensuring all guests' needs are met during their dining experience.
  5. Monitor and anticipate guests' needs, promptly addressing any issues that may arise.
  6. Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and efficient manner.
  7. Ensure all food and drinks are prepared according to IHOP's standards and specifications.
  8. Maintain a clean and organized work station, including dining areas and restrooms.
  9. Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently.
  10. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  11. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  12. Continuously strive to improve customer satisfaction and exceed expectations.
  13. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders.
  14. Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned.
  15. Attend and participate in training and development sessions as required.

Job Qualifications

  • Experience In The Food And Beverage Industry: Candidates Should Have Prior Experience Working In A Restaurant, Preferably In A Server Role. This Will Demonstrate Their Understanding Of The Industry And Their Ability To Handle The Fast-Paced Environment At Ihop.

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills: The Server Is The Face Of The Restaurant And Is Responsible For Providing A Positive Dining Experience For Customers. Candidates Should Have Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Interact With Guests And Handle Any Customer Complaints Or Requests.

  • Knowledge Of Menu Items And Specials: A Good Server Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Menu, Including Daily Specials And Any Dietary Restrictions Or Allergies. This Will Help Them Make Recommendations To Customers And Answer Any Questions They May Have About The Food.

  • Ability To Multitask And Work Under Pressure: Working In A Busy Restaurant, Servers Need To Be Able To Handle Multiple Tables At Once And Prioritize Tasks In A Timely Manner. They Should Also Be Able To Handle High-Stress Situations, Such As Dealing With Unhappy Customers Or Managing A Large Group.

  • Physical Stamina And Flexibility: Serving Can Be Physically Demanding, With Long Hours Spent Standing And Walking, Carrying Heavy Trays, And Bending And Reaching. Candidates Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Handle The Physical Demands Of The Job. They Should Also Be Flexible With Their Schedule, As Servers May Be Required To Work Evenings, Weekends, And Holidays.
