Job Description

Represent the Hyundai Motor North America (HMNA) Cost Optimization Committee in technical decisions required for cost management during the entire Product Development Process. Lead cross-functional teams across Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) units including R&D, Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Product Planning, Marketing, Logistics and others. Engineer and design improvements to current vehicles to reduce cost, while improving quality, reliability and durability. The ideal candidate is someone who can self-generate ideas, develop concepts, prove out concepts and follow thru to production. Develop innovative solutions to improve profitability considering: specifications, cost, mass, performance and quality perspectives. Create and present technical reports to communicate project status and results. Track and report status on all ideas on a weekly basis.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge of US vehicle homologation requirements a plus.
At least five (5) years of Design/Release or Project Management in the automotive industry.
Master’s degree in Automotive Engineering or related science, preferred
Experience utilizing Computer Aided Design tools (capability in CATIA V5 ideal, but not required)
