- Perform ultrasound procedures on patients according to established protocols and standards.
- Utilize advanced ultrasound technology and techniques to obtain high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
- Interpret and analyze ultrasound images to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely ultrasound results.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records, including images and reports, in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures by following proper safety protocols and guidelines.
- Monitor equipment and supplies, and report any malfunctions or shortages to the appropriate department.
- Educate patients on the ultrasound procedure, answer any questions or concerns they may have, and provide emotional support as needed.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills through attending trainings, workshops, and other educational opportunities related to ultrasound technology and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals to promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families, ensuring a positive experience during their time at the hospital.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and assist in implementing new processes or procedures to enhance patient care.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as safety and infection control standards, to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Participate in on-call and weekend rotations as required to ensure 24/7 coverage for ultrasound services.
Accredited Ultrasound Program: A Minimum Of An Associate's Degree From An Accredited Ultrasound Program Is Required For This Position. This Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform Ultrasound Procedures Accurately And Efficiently.
Ardms Certification: The Candidate Must Possess A Current Certification From The American Registry For Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ardms). This Certification Demonstrates The Candidate's Proficiency And Expertise In Ultrasound Techniques.
Experience In A Hospital Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Hospital Setting, Particularly In A Fast-Paced Environment, Is Highly Preferred. This Shows That The Candidate Is Familiar With Hospital Protocols And Can Handle A High Volume Of Patients.
Knowledge Of Various Ultrasound Modalities: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience And Knowledge In A Variety Of Ultrasound Modalities Such As Abdominal, Ob/Gyn, Vascular, And Musculoskeletal. This Ensures That They Can Perform A Wide Range Of Ultrasound Procedures As Needed.
Excellent Communication Skills: Strong Communication Skills Are Essential For An Ultrasonographer As They Will Be Interacting With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis.
