Assist the surgical team with preparing operating rooms and equipment for surgical procedures.
Provide support to patients before and after surgery, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the surgical team.
Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
Transfer patients to and from the operating room.
Assist with positioning patients on the operating table and ensuring their safety.
Provide post-operative care, including wound care, medication administration, and monitoring for complications.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care.
Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
Communicate and interact with patients and their families in a compassionate and professional manner.
Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
Attend trainings and educational programs to maintain and improve knowledge and skills.
Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed.
Assist with other tasks and duties as assigned by the surgical team.

Job Qualifications

Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) License: Candidates For A Surgical Nursing Assistant Job At Huntington Hospital Must Have A Valid Cna License. This Ensures That They Have Completed The Necessary Training And Are Qualified To Provide Direct Patient Care.
Experience In A Surgical Setting: Prior Experience Working As A Nursing Assistant In A Surgical Unit Or Operating Room Is Highly Desired. This Demonstrates A Familiarity With Surgical Procedures And Equipment, As Well As The Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment.
Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: A Current Bls Certification Is Required For All Healthcare Professionals At Huntington Hospital. This Ensures That Candidates Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Respond To Emergency Situations And Provide Basic Life Support.
Attention To Detail: Surgical Nursing Assistants Are Responsible For Assisting With Procedures, Preparing Equipment And Supplies, And Documenting Patient Information. Attention To Detail Is Crucial In Order To Ensure The Safety And Well-Being Of Patients, As Well As The Accuracy Of Medical Records.
