
Perinatal Safety Nurse

- Collaborate with the perinatal healthcare team to develop and implement safety protocols and policies for patients and staff.
- Conduct regular safety audits and assessments to identify and address potential risks and hazards in the perinatal unit.
- Provide education and training to staff on best practices for perinatal safety, including infection control, medication safety, and emergency preparedness.
- Act as a resource for perinatal staff, providing guidance and support in identifying and addressing safety concerns.
- Monitor and analyze safety data and trends, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to perinatal safety.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards related to perinatal safety.
- Serve as a liaison between the perinatal unit and other departments, such as risk management and infection control, to promote a culture of safety throughout the hospital.
- Collaborate with patients and their families to educate them on perinatal safety measures and empower them to be active participants in their care.
- Stay current on industry trends and advancements in perinatal safety practices, and make recommendations for implementing new strategies and technologies.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field: A Perinatal Safety Nurse Must Have A Strong Foundation In Nursing Principles And Practices To Effectively Monitor And Improve Safety Measures In The Perinatal Unit.
Current Registered Nurse (Rn) License: This Job Requires A Valid Rn License In The State Of California, As Well As Any Additional Certifications Or Licenses Required By Huntington Hospital.
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Perinatal Nursing: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of Three Years Experience In A Perinatal Setting, Preferably In A Leadership Or Supervisory Role.
Knowledge Of Perinatal Safety Best Practices And Regulations: A Perinatal Safety Nurse Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Current Safety Protocols And Regulations In Order To Develop And Implement Effective Safety Initiatives.
Strong Communication And Leadership Skills: This Role Involves Working Closely With A Multidisciplinary Team, As Well As Providing Education And Training To Staff. Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills Are Essential For Success In This Position.
