
Orthopedic Technologist

As an Orthopedic Technologist, you will play a crucial role in assisting our orthopedic physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. - Assist orthopedic physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and equipment for patient procedures.
- Educate patients on procedures and post-operative care.
- Perform orthopedic procedures, such as cast application and removal, wound care, and suture removal.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and assist with administering medications.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Stay up-to-date with current orthopedic techniques, procedures, and equipment.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, colleagues, and other healthcare team members.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as legal and ethical standards.
- Act as a resource and mentor for less experienced staff members.
- Attend trainings and conferences to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Completion Of An Accredited Orthopedic Technologist Program: The Candidate Should Have Completed A Recognized Program In Orthopedic Technology, Which Provides Them With The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Perform The Job Duties Effectively.
Certification As An Orthopedic Technologist (Ot-C): Having A Certification From The National Board For Certification Of Orthopedic Technologists (Nbcot) Demonstrates A High Level Of Competency And Expertise In The Field.
Experience In Orthopedic Procedures And Equipment: Previous Experience Working In An Orthopedic Setting Or With Orthopedic Surgeons Is Preferred. Familiarity With Various Orthopedic Procedures, Equipment, And Tools Is Also Important.
Strong Knowledge Of Anatomy And Physiology: A Thorough Understanding Of The Musculoskeletal System Is Crucial For An Orthopedic Technologist. This Includes Knowledge Of Bones, Joints, Muscles, And Other Structures, As Well As Their Functions And Potential Injuries.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Orthopedic Technologist, You Will Work Closely With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
