1. Prepare tissue samples for examination by our pathologists according to established procedures and protocols.
2. Ensure accuracy and quality of all sample preparations, including proper labeling and documentation.
3. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, including microtomes, tissue processors, and staining machines.
4. Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to strict safety guidelines.
5. Assist in the tracking and inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents.
6. Communicate effectively with laboratory staff, pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate sample processing.
7. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or problems with sample preparations.
8. Keep up-to-date with current techniques and technologies in histology and apply them to improve processes and procedures.
9. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all laboratory activities.
10. Participate in quality control and assurance programs to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
11. Collaborate with other laboratory departments to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of results.
12. Provide excellent customer service to patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
13. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as regulatory and safety guidelines.
14. Attend continuing education and training sessions to maintain and enhance skills and knowledge.
15. Perform other duties as assigned by laboratory management.
