
Histotechnician

As a Histotechnician, you will be responsible for preparing tissue samples for examination by our pathologists. - Prepare tissue samples for examination by our pathologists according to established procedures and protocols.
- Ensure accuracy and quality of all sample preparations, including proper labeling and documentation.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, including microtomes, tissue processors, and staining machines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to strict safety guidelines.
- Assist in the tracking and inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents.
- Communicate effectively with laboratory staff, pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate sample processing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or problems with sample preparations.
- Keep up-to-date with current techniques and technologies in histology and apply them to improve processes and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all laboratory activities.
- Participate in quality control and assurance programs to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Collaborate with other laboratory departments to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of results.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as regulatory and safety guidelines.
- Attend continuing education and training sessions to maintain and enhance skills and knowledge.
- Perform other duties as assigned by laboratory management.
Associate's Or Bachelor's Degree In Histotechnology, Biology, Or A Related Field.
Certification As A Histotechnician (Ht) Through The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Histology Laboratory Setting.
Proficiency In Performing Routine Histology Techniques, Including Tissue Processing, Embedding, Sectioning, And Staining.
Knowledge Of Laboratory Safety Protocols And Ability To Maintain Accurate Records And Documentation.
