
Food Service Worker I Per Diem

- Prepare and serve food to patients, staff, and visitors following established guidelines and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food service areas, including kitchen, dining areas, and equipment.
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation to ensure availability of necessary food and supplies.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate meal preparation and delivery.
- Adhere to all safety and hygiene regulations, including proper handwashing and food handling procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and visitors to ensure their satisfaction with food service.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
- Maintain accurate records of food orders, deliveries, and inventory.
- Follow proper procedures for handling and storing food, including labeling and dating.
- Assist with special events and catering services as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other food service team members to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
- Attend training and meetings as required to enhance knowledge and skills related to food service.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including those related to confidentiality and patient rights.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude, promoting a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager or other supervisory staff.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Food Service Worker I Per Diem At Huntington Hospital Should Have A High School Diploma Or Equivalent In Order To Meet The Minimum Educational Requirements For The Job.
Prior Food Service Experience: Previous Experience In A Food Service Setting Is Preferred For This Role, As It Demonstrates An Understanding Of Basic Food Handling And Preparation Techniques.
Knowledge Of Food Safety And Sanitation: As A Food Service Worker, It Is Important To Have A Basic Understanding Of Food Safety And Sanitation Practices To Ensure The Safety And Well-Being Of Patients And Staff.
Ability To Follow Instructions And Work Independently: The Ideal Candidate Should Have The Ability To Follow Instructions Accurately And Work Independently, As They May Be Responsible For Tasks Such As Preparing And Serving Meals Or Restocking Supplies.
Physical Ability To Perform Job Duties: This Role May Require Standing For Long Periods Of Time, Carrying Heavy Trays, And Performing Repetitive Tasks. Therefore, Candidates Should Be Physically Able To Perform The Job Duties With Ease.
