We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Environmental Service Aide to join our team on a part-time evening shift. In this role, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all areas of the hospital, including patient rooms, waiting areas, and common spaces.
Regularly clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, such as doorknobs, handrails, and public restrooms.
Empty and dispose of trash and medical waste in accordance with hospital protocols.
Restock and replenish supplies, such as paper towels, soap, and hand sanitizer, as needed.
Follow infection control policies and procedures to prevent the spread of illnesses and infections.
Monitor and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
Adhere to all safety regulations and use personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling hazardous materials.
Assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment for special events or meetings.
Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by responding to requests and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Collaborate with the Environmental Services team to ensure a seamless and efficient cleaning process.
Attend training and educational sessions to stay updated on industry standards and best practices.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling sensitive information.
Follow all hospital policies and procedures, including attendance and punctuality standards.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and suggest ways to improve the environmental services department.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Environmental Services Supervisor or Manager.

Job Qualifications

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For An Environmental Service Aide, Pt Evenings Job At Huntington Hospital Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Can Perform Tasks That Require Reading, Writing, And Basic Mathematical Skills.
Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Candidates With Previous Experience Working In A Hospital Or Healthcare Facility Will Be Preferred For This Position. Therefore, Candidates Should Have Knowledge Of Infection Control And Safety Procedures To Prevent The Spread Of Diseases And Maintain A Safe Working Environment.
Physical Ability To Perform Job Duties: This Position Requires A Significant Amount Of Physical Work, Including Standing For Extended Periods, Bending, Lifting, And Pushing Heavy Equipment. Candidates Should Have The Physical Stamina To Perform These Tasks Efficiently And Effectively.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Environmental Service Aide, The Candidate Will Interact With Patients, Visitors, And Hospital Staff On A Daily Basis.
