Conduct laboratory tests and analyses to accurately diagnose and treat patients.
Ensure all laboratory equipment is maintained and calibrated according to industry standards.
Follow proper protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and clean laboratory environment.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to accurately interpret and communicate test results.
Stay current on industry advancements and implement new techniques and technologies as needed.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of all laboratory procedures and test results.
Adhere to all regulatory and safety standards in the performance of duties.
Continuously monitor quality control measures to ensure accuracy and precision in test results.
Train and supervise laboratory assistants and technicians.
Prioritize and manage workload in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Communicate effectively with patients and their families to explain test results and provide necessary education.
Attend and participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving laboratory processes and workflows.
Demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional patient care and customer service.
Actively participate in ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
Perform other duties as assigned by laboratory management.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or A Related Field: A Clinical Laboratory Scientist At Huntington Hospital Must Possess A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or A Related Field. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Theoretical Background And Is Well-Versed In Various Laboratory Techniques And Procedures.
Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls): A Clinical Laboratory Scientist At Huntington Hospital Must Hold A Valid Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) From A Recognized Certifying Agency, Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The National Credentialing Agency For Laboratory Personnel (Nca). This Certification Demonstrates The Candidate's Knowledge And Competence In The Field Of Medical Laboratory Science.
Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting: Previous Work Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting Is Highly Desirable For A Clinical Laboratory Scientist At Huntington Hospital. This Experience Ensures That The Candidate Is Familiar With The Day-To-Day Operations Of A Clinical Laboratory And Has Practical Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures And Equipment.
Attention To Detail And Accuracy: A Clinical Laboratory Scientist At Huntington Hospital Must Have Exceptional Attention To Detail And Accuracy In Their Work. This Is Crucial For Ensuring The Reliability And Validity Of Laboratory Test Results, Which Are Critical For Accurate Diagnosis And Treatment Of Patients.
