Claims Coordinator

This position is responsible for the handling of all aspects of a claim file from beginning to conclusion, including the investigation in conjunction with the facility risk manager(s), human resource lead(s) or department leader(s), determination of liability, confirmation of coverage, assessment of damages, and negotiation and settlement of claims in collaboration with hospital defense counsel. Provides advice and acts as a resource to administration, medical staff, patients, and staff relating to claims administration and risk mitigation. The Claims Coordinator is responsible in the analysis of risk management (claims, events) data pertaining to liability claims and litigation involving HMH including its residents and other health care professionals as defendants when covered by HMH Liability Insurance Program(s) or Self-Insurance.
