- Lead the development and implementation of innovative oligonucleotide chemistry strategies to support the advancement of molecular diagnostics.
- Conduct research and experiments to analyze and optimize oligonucleotide chemistry processes and techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute studies and experiments to support product development.
- Analyze and interpret data, and communicate results to internal and external stakeholders.

- Lead and mentor a team of scientists and technicians, providing guidance and support for their professional development.

- Participate in project planning and strategy development, providing scientific expertise and recommendations.
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors to source and evaluate new oligonucleotide chemistry technologies and materials.
- Contribute to the preparation and review of technical reports, publications, and patent applications.
- Effectively communicate project updates, progress, and challenges to stakeholders at all levels.

- Maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Act as a subject matter expert on oligonucleotide chemistry for internal and external stakeholders, providing guidance and support as needed.
Advanced Degree In Chemistry Or Related Field: A Lead Scientist In Oligonucleotide Chemistry At Hologic Should Possess A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Chemistry Or A Related Field, With Preference Given To Candidates With A Phd. This Level Of Education Demonstrates A Strong Understanding Of Scientific Principles And Techniques Necessary For Success In This Role.
Extensive Experience In Oligonucleotide Chemistry: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 5-7 Years Of Hands-On Experience In Oligonucleotide Chemistry, With A Proven Track Record Of Success In Developing And Optimizing Oligonucleotide-Based Assays And Reagents. This Experience Should Include A Deep Understanding Of The Chemical Properties And Synthesis Methods Of Oligonucleotides.
Leadership And Project Management Skills: As A Lead Scientist, This Individual Will Be Responsible For Overseeing And Managing A Team Of Scientists, As Well As Leading Projects Related To Developing New Oligonucleotide-Based Products. Therefore, Strong Leadership And Project Management Skills Are Essential For Success In This Role.
Knowledge Of Regulatory Requirements: Hologic Is A Highly Regulated Industry, And Therefore, The Lead Scientist Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Regulatory Requirements For Oligonucleotide Chemistry Products. This Includes Knowledge Of Fda And/Or Other Regulatory Agencies' Guidelines And Requirements For Developing And Manufacturing Oligonucleotide-Based Products.
Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills: A Lead Scientist At Hologic Should Be An Effective Communicator And Collaborator, Able To Work Closely With Cross-Functional Teams Including R&D, Quality, Regulatory, And Marketing Departments. This Individual Should Also Have Excellent Presentation Skills, As They May Be Required To Present Their Research And Findings To Internal And External Stakeholders.
