- Conduct thorough research and stay up-to-date on current wine trends and offerings to enhance the wine list.
- Create and update wine pairing suggestions for the hotel's menu items to enhance the overall dining experience for guests.
- Educate guests on the art of wine pairing and provide recommendations based on their preferences.
- Train and educate restaurant staff on wine knowledge and service standards to ensure consistency in service.
- Work closely with the culinary team to ensure the selection of wines complements the food menu.
- Monitor and control inventory levels of wine to ensure availability and freshness.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials and events to showcase the hotel's wine selection.
- Maintain a professional and welcoming demeanor while interacting with guests, answering questions, and providing recommendations.
- Continuously strive to exceed guests' expectations and provide exceptional service in all interactions.
Extensive Knowledge Of Wines And Other Beverages: A Sommelier At Holiday Inn Hotels Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of Different Types Of Wines, Their Origins, Production Processes, And Flavor Profiles. They Should Also Have Knowledge Of Other Alcoholic And Non-Alcoholic Beverages.
Certification From A Recognized Sommelier Association: Holiday Inn Hotels Would Prefer Candidates Who Have Completed A Sommelier Certification Program From A Reputable Association Such As The Court Of Master Sommeliers Or The International Sommelier Guild.
Experience In A Similar Role In A Hotel Or Fine Dining Establishment: Previous Experience As A Sommelier In A Hotel Or Upscale Restaurant Setting Is Highly Desirable For This Role. This Demonstrates The Candidate's Ability To Handle A High Volume Of Guests And Provide Exceptional Service.
