- Greet and welcome guests with a friendly and professional demeanor upon arrival at banquets and special events.
- Provide exceptional customer service by ensuring guests' needs are met promptly and efficiently.
- Set up and maintain banquet tables, linens, and service stations according to event specifications.
- Take orders and serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods, to assist guests with any questions or dietary restrictions.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of banquet events, including moving tables, chairs, and other equipment.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet areas, including restocking supplies and clearing tables.
- Work closely with the banquet and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly to any requests or concerns.
- Follow all safety and sanitation procedures to ensure a safe and clean environment for guests and staff.
- Communicate effectively with guests, management, and team members to ensure a positive and cohesive work environment.
- Attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings to stay informed about policies and procedures, menu changes, and special events.
- Follow cash handling procedures and accurately handle guest payments.
- Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Provide assistance to other team members as needed to ensure the success of events and banquets.
- Maintain a professional and friendly attitude at all times, representing the Holiday Inn brand in a positive manner.
- Continuously strive to improve service by seeking guest feedback and implementing suggestions for improvement.
- Be punctual and reliable for all scheduled shifts.
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times while on duty.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Previous Experience: A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience As A Server In A Banquet Or Catering Setting Is Typically Required For An On-Call Server Position At Holiday Inn Hotels. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Understanding Of Banquet Service, Including Knowledge Of Proper Table Setup, Food And Beverage Service Techniques, And Customer Service.
Flexibility And Availability: On-Call Servers Must Be Willing And Able To Work A Variety Of Shifts, Including Evenings, Weekends, And Holidays. They Should Also Be Able To Respond To Last-Minute Requests For Shifts, As On-Call Staff Are Often Called In To Cover For Unexpected Absences Or Busy Periods.
Excellent Communication Skills: As A Representative Of The Holiday Inn Brand, On-Call Servers Must Have Strong Communication Skills To Interact With Guests And Colleagues In A Professional And Friendly Manner. This Includes The Ability To Take Orders Accurately, Answer Questions About The Menu, And Handle Any Guest Concerns Or Special Requests.
Physical Stamina: Banquet Service Can Be Physically Demanding, Requiring Servers To Be On Their Feet For Long Periods Of Time And Lift Heavy Trays Of Food And Beverages. Candidates For This Position Should Be In Good Physical Condition And Have The Stamina To Handle The Demands Of The Job.
Knowledge Of Food And Beverage: While Specific Training Will Be Provided By Holiday Inn, On-Call Servers Should Have A General Knowledge Of Food And Beverage, Including Common Menu Items And Alcoholic And Non-Alcoholic Drinks. This Will Help Them Provide Recommendations To Guests And Ensure Accurate Service.
