As the Director of Catering and Events, you will play a vital role in creating and executing successful events and catering services for our hotel. - Oversee all aspects of the hotel's catering and events department, including staff hiring, training, and scheduling.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase catering and event bookings and revenue.
- Maintain a strong knowledge of current industry trends and competition to continuously improve services and offerings.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure seamless coordination and execution of events.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and vendors to ensure exceptional service and customer satisfaction.
- Create and manage budgets for catering and events, ensuring profitability and cost control.
- Coordinate with the sales team to develop and execute effective marketing and promotional plans for catering and events.
- Manage the planning and execution of all types of events, from small meetings to large conferences and weddings.
- Ensure all event and catering contracts and agreements are accurate, timely, and in compliance with company policies.
- Stay updated on food and beverage trends and make recommendations for menu updates and improvements.
- Oversee event setup, including room design, audiovisual equipment, and all necessary materials.
- Handle any guest complaints or issues regarding catering and events, and take appropriate action to resolve them.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback to the catering and events team.
- Ensure high levels of cleanliness and maintenance are maintained in all event and catering spaces.
- Adhere to all safety and security procedures and policies to maintain a safe work environment for staff and guests.
Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In A Similar Role: A Director Of Catering And Events At Holiday Inn Hotels Should Have A Strong Background In Managing And Executing Successful Events And Catering Functions. This Experience Should Include Working In A Hotel Setting And Handling Various Types Of Events And Clients.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Director Of Catering And Events Should Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Clients, Vendors, And Hotel Staff To Ensure Smooth And Efficient Event Planning And Execution. They Should Also Be Able To Handle Any Conflicts Or Issues That May Arise During An Event.
Strong Organizational And Time-Management Skills: This Role Requires The Ability To Handle Multiple Events And Tasks Simultaneously. The Director Of Catering And Events Must Be Able To Prioritize And Delegate Tasks To Ensure All Events Are Executed Flawlessly And Within Budget.
Extensive Knowledge Of Event Planning And Catering Industry: A Successful Director Of Catering And Events At Holiday Inn Hotels Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Latest Trends And Best Practices In Event Planning And Catering. They Should Also Have A Strong Network Of Vendors And Suppliers To Provide High-Quality Services To Clients.
Bachelor's Degree In Hospitality Management Or Related Field: While Not Always Required, A Degree In Hospitality Management Or A Related Field Can Provide Valuable Knowledge And Skills For This Role. It Shows A Commitment To The Industry And A Strong Understanding Of The Business Aspects Of Event Planning And Catering.
