  1. Perform accurate and timely examinations of cellular specimens to aid in the early detection and diagnosis of diseases.
  2. Maintain knowledge of current laboratory and cytology techniques and procedures.
  3. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
  4. Follow established protocols and safety measures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  5. Communicate effectively with other members of the healthcare team to ensure proper patient care.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all specimens and test results.
  7. Participate in quality control and assurance programs to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
  8. Adhere to all regulatory and accreditation standards.
  9. Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities to stay current with industry advancements.
  10. Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment by actively participating in team meetings and providing support to colleagues when needed.
  11. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families by answering questions and addressing concerns in a professional and compassionate manner.
  12. Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  13. Assist in the training and supervision of new staff members and students.
  14. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the laboratory director or supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Cytology, Biology, Or Medical Laboratory Science.

  • Certification As A Cytotechnologist From The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Cytotechnologist In A Clinical Laboratory Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Cytology Techniques And Procedures, Including Cell Morphology And Staining Methods.

  • Excellent Attention To Detail And Ability To Accurately Interpret And Report On Cytology Specimens.
