- Perform accurate and timely examinations of cellular specimens to aid in the early detection and diagnosis of diseases.
- Maintain knowledge of current laboratory and cytology techniques and procedures.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Follow established protocols and safety measures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Communicate effectively with other members of the healthcare team to ensure proper patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all specimens and test results.
- Participate in quality control and assurance programs to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.

Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Cytology, Biology, Or Medical Laboratory Science.
Certification As A Cytotechnologist From The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Cytotechnologist In A Clinical Laboratory Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Cytology Techniques And Procedures, Including Cell Morphology And Staining Methods.
Excellent Attention To Detail And Ability To Accurately Interpret And Report On Cytology Specimens.
