  1. Review and analyze healthcare provider claims to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.
  2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with healthcare providers to promote value-based care.
  3. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and changes in healthcare reimbursement policies.
  4. Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement value-based reimbursement strategies.
  5. Conduct audits and investigations to identify potential fraud and abuse in healthcare reimbursement.
  6. Provide guidance and training to healthcare providers on value-based reimbursement models.
  7. Monitor and track reimbursement data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  8. Communicate with insurance companies and other external stakeholders to resolve reimbursement issues.
  9. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and compliance requirements related to healthcare reimbursement.
  10. Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement reimbursement policies and procedures.
  11. Prepare and present reports on reimbursement trends and performance to management.
  12. Continuously evaluate and improve reimbursement processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  13. Collaborate with finance team to forecast and budget for reimbursement expenses.
  14. Serve as a subject matter expert on value-based reimbursement for internal and external stakeholders.
  15. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information related to healthcare reimbursement.

Job Qualifications
  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Value-Based Reimbursement Models: A Successful Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Various Value-Based Reimbursement Models, Such As Bundled Payments, Pay-For-Performance, And Shared Savings. They Should Also Be Familiar With Relevant Laws And Regulations Related To Value-Based Reimbursement.

  • Experience With Data Analysis And Reporting: The Role Of A Value-Based Reimbursement Specialist Involves Analyzing And Interpreting Large Sets Of Data To Identify Potential Areas For Cost Savings And Quality Improvement. Therefore, Candidates Should Have Experience With Data Analysis Tools And Be Able To Produce Detailed Reports And Presentations.

  • Familiarity With Healthcare Industry Trends: To Be Effective In This Role, A Candidate Should Have A Good Understanding Of Current Trends And Challenges In The Healthcare Industry, Particularly Related To Payment Models And Quality Measures. This Knowledge Will Help Them Develop And Implement Effective Reimbursement Strategies.

  • Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills: As A Value-Based Reimbursement Specialist, One Will Be Required To Collaborate With Various Stakeholders, Including Physicians, Healthcare Providers, And Insurance Companies. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Building Relationships And Effectively Communicating Complex Information.

  • Education And Certification: Most Employers Prefer Candidates With A Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Business, Or A Related Field. Additionally, Having Relevant Certifications, Such As Certified Professional In Healthcare Quality (Cphq) Or Certified Professional In Value-Based Reimbursement (Cpvbr), Can Also Make A Candidate Stand Out.
