
Unit Secretary - Trauma ICU

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient information, including admission and discharge paperwork, progress notes, and lab results.
- Coordinate and schedule appointments, tests, and procedures for patients in the Trauma Intensive Care Unit.
- Answer phone calls and politely greet and assist visitors and patients, directing them to the appropriate staff or resources.
- Manage and organize patient charts and medical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with healthcare professionals, patients, and their families to relay important information and updates.
- Monitor and order office supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper functioning.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and photocopying.
- Collaborate with other unit secretaries and healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate patient care.
- Follow established protocols and procedures for maintaining a clean and organized unit environment.
- Attend meetings and training sessions as required to stay updated on unit policies and procedures.
- Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers to address any concerns or needs.
- Demonstrate a positive and welcoming attitude towards all individuals in the unit, promoting a supportive and inclusive environment.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures
Minimum Of 1 Year Experience As A Unit Secretary In A Hospital Setting
Proficiency In Computer Skills, Including Microsoft Office And Electronic Medical Records Systems
Excellent Communication And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Multitask And Prioritize In A Fast-Paced Environment
