1. Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to postpartum and newborn patients.
2. Conduct initial assessments and ongoing monitoring of postpartum mothers and newborns.
3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
4. Educate and support new mothers on postpartum care, newborn care, breastfeeding, and infant nutrition.
5. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
6. Monitor and document patient progress, including vital signs, intake and output, and any changes in condition.
7. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure the best possible outcomes.
8. Provide emotional support and guidance to new mothers and their families during this special time.
9. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
10. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient care activities.
11. Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices in postpartum and newborn care.
12. Serve as an advocate for patients and their families, addressing any concerns or needs that may arise.
13. Demonstrate a strong commitment to compassionate and patient-centered care.
