Job Description

Highmark Health is seeking an experienced Release of Information Specialist to join our team and support our mission to provide quality healthcare services to our patients. We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who is knowledgeable in HIPAA laws and regulations. The Release of Information Specialist will be responsible for responding to requests for medical records from patients, insurance companies, and other healthcare providers.Qualifications include:• High School Diploma or GED• At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting• Knowledge of HIPAA laws and regulations• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Ability to work independently and within a team• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite• Ability to maintain confidentialityIf you are an experienced Release of Information Specialist who is passionate about providing quality healthcare services, we invite you to apply for this position. Responsibilities:

  1. Respond to requests for medical records from patients, insurance companies, and other healthcare providers in a timely and accurate manner.
  2. Ensure compliance with all HIPAA laws and regulations.
  3. Communicate effectively and efficiently with other departments and staff members.
  4. Maintain confidentiality of all medical records and patient information.
  5. Utilize Microsoft Office Suite to manage data and track requests.
  6. Participate in team meetings and other team-building activities.
  7. Follow established procedures and policies for releasing medical records.
  8. Verify accuracy of records before releasing them.
  9. Assist in training new staff members on release of information procedures.
  10. Monitor release of information requests and ensure they are fulfilled in a timely manner.
