  1. Oversee and manage a team of nurses to ensure efficient and effective delivery of healthcare services to patients.
  2. Create and implement schedules for nursing staff to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient care.
  3. Monitor and assess the performance of nursing staff, providing guidance and feedback as needed.
  4. Collaborate with other departments and healthcare professionals to develop and maintain a comprehensive patient care plan.
  5. Train and mentor new nursing staff, ensuring they are knowledgeable and competent in their roles.
  6. Monitor and maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ordering new supplies as needed.
  7. Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures.
  8. Identify areas for improvement in patient care and make recommendations to management.
  9. Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and management, communicating any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
  10. Provide direct patient care as needed, demonstrating clinical expertise and compassion.
  11. Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of new policies and procedures.
  12. Promote a positive and collaborative work environment, fostering teamwork and open communication.
  13. Stay up-to-date on advancements and changes in nursing practices and procedures.
  14. Serve as a role model for nursing staff, upholding the values and standards of Highmark Health.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) Is Typically Required For A Registered Nurse Supervisor Position At Highmark Health. This Degree Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory, Clinical Practice, And Leadership Skills.

  • Active Rn License: A Valid And Active Registered Nurse (Rn) License Is Necessary To Practice Nursing And Supervise Other Nurses At Highmark Health. This License Must Be Maintained And Kept Up-To-Date According To State Regulations.

  • Previous Supervisory Experience: Candidates For A Registered Nurse Supervisor Position At Highmark Health Should Have Previous Experience In A Supervisory Role. This May Include Managing A Team Of Nurses, Overseeing Patient Care Units, Or Leading Quality Improvement Initiatives.

  • Strong Communication And Leadership Skills: As A Supervisor, Effective Communication And Leadership Skills Are Crucial For Success. The Ability To Clearly And Confidently Direct And Motivate A Team Is Essential In This Role.

  • Knowledge Of Healthcare Regulations And Policies: As A Healthcare Organization, Highmark Health Must Comply With Various Regulations And Policies.
