Certified Lactation Consultant (Clc) Or International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (Ibclc) Certification: The Candidate Must Be Certified As A Lactation Consultant By Either The Clc Or Ibclc Board.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Clinical Nursing Experience: Highmark Health Requires Candidates To Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Registered Nurse In A Clinical Setting, With A Preference For Experience In Maternal And Child Health.
Knowledge Of Breastfeeding Best Practices And Techniques: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Breastfeeding Best Practices And Techniques, Including Proper Latch, Positioning, And Troubleshooting Common Breastfeeding Issues.
Excellent Communication And Teaching Skills: As A Lactation Consultant, The Candidate Will Be Working Closely With New Mothers And Families, Providing Education And Support. Strong Communication And Teaching Skills Are Essential In This Role To Effectively Guide And Educate New Mothers On Breastfeeding.
