We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician - Endocrinologist to join our team at Highmark Health.   1. Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients' endocrine health, including reviewing medical history, performing physical examinations, and ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
  2. Diagnose and treat a wide range of endocrine disorders, including but not limited to diabetes, thyroid disorders, and hormonal imbalances.
  3. Develop individualized treatment plans for patients based on their specific needs and medical history, including prescribing medications, recommending lifestyle changes, and coordinating with other healthcare professionals.
  4. Monitor and track patients' progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients and their families to ensure they understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and any potential risks or side effects.
  6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, specialists, and allied health professionals, to provide comprehensive and coordinated care.
  7. Stay up-to-date on the latest research and advancements in the field of endocrinology to continuously improve patient care.
  8. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in patient care and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  9. Participate in departmental meetings, conferences, and committees to contribute to the development and improvement of endocrinology services.
  10. Maintain accurate and thorough medical records for all patients.
  11. Provide guidance and mentorship to medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals as needed.
  12. Represent the organization in a professional and positive manner at all times.
  13. Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
  14. Continuously strive to improve patient satisfaction and quality of care.
  15. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist with developing and implementing best practices.
  16. Attend continuing education programs and maintain board certification and licensure.
  17. Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and self-improvement.
  18. Serve as a patient advocate and ensure that patients' needs and concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.
  19. Collaborate with insurance companies and other third-party payers to ensure proper reimbursement

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: A Physician-Endocrinologist Must Possess A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree From An Accredited Medical School. This Is The Minimum Educational Requirement For All Physicians.

  • Board Certification: Certification By The American Board Of Internal Medicine (Abim) In The Subspecialty Of Endocrinology, Diabetes And Metabolism Is Required For All Physicians Practicing As An Endocrinologist. This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Knowledge And Expertise In The Field.

  • Residency And Fellowship Training: A Minimum Of Three Years Of Residency Training In Internal Medicine Is Required, Followed By Two To Three Years Of Fellowship Training In The Specialty Of Endocrinology, Diabetes, And Metabolism.

  • State Medical License: All Physicians Must Be Licensed To Practice Medicine In The State Where They Will Be Working. This Requires Passing A National Exam And Meeting Other State-Specific Requirements.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Endocrinologist, The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Essential. This Includes Strong Listening Skills, Empathy, And The Ability To Explain Complex Medical Concepts In A Clear And Understandable Manner.
