  1. Develop and implement educational programs for nursing staff to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge.
  2. Collaborate with various departments and healthcare professionals to assess learning needs and identify areas for improvement.
  3. Create and deliver engaging and interactive educational materials and presentations.
  4. Utilize evidence-based practices and current industry standards to ensure the quality and effectiveness of educational programs.
  5. Evaluate the success of educational programs and make necessary revisions to continuously improve the learning experience for nursing staff.
  6. Maintain accurate records of educational activities and provide reports to management as needed.
  7. Serve as a mentor and resource for nursing staff, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
  8. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in healthcare to ensure that educational programs are relevant and up-to-date.
  9. Collaborate with human resources to develop and implement orientation and onboarding programs for new nursing staff.
  10. Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth among nursing staff.
  11. Communicate effectively with nursing staff, management, and other healthcare professionals to ensure alignment and understanding of educational objectives.
  12. Participate in and/or lead committees and task forces related to professional development and education initiatives.
  13. Adhere to all regulatory and compliance requirements related to education and training for healthcare professionals.
  14. Represent Highmark Health at conferences, seminars, and other industry events related to nursing professional development.
  15. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Nursing Professional Development Specialist At Highmark Health Must Possess A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution. This Will Ensure A Strong Foundation In Nursing Knowledge And Skills.

  • Active Rn License: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Hold An Active Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Where They Will Be Practicing. This License Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The Necessary Requirements To Practice As A Nurse.

  • Clinical Experience: Highmark Health Requires The Nursing Professional Development Specialist To Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Clinical Experience In A Healthcare Setting. This Experience Will Provide The Necessary Understanding Of The Healthcare Industry And The Challenges Faced By Nurses.

  • Certification In Nursing Professional Development: Possessing A Certification In Nursing Professional Development (Npd) Is Preferred For This Role. This Certification Demonstrates A Commitment To The Field And A High Level Of Knowledge And Expertise In Nursing Education.

  • Excellent Communication And Teaching Skills: A Successful Nursing Professional Development Specialist At Highmark Health Should Have Excellent Communication And Teaching Skills To Effectively Train And Educate Nurses. This Includes The Ability To Deliver Presentations, Facilitate Discussions, And Provide Feedback In A Clear And Concise Manner.
