  1. Develop and implement training programs and continuing education opportunities for nursing staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  2. Conduct needs assessments to identify areas for improvement and create targeted learning interventions.
  3. Collaborate with key stakeholders, including nursing leadership and clinical educators, to align professional development initiatives with organizational goals and priorities.
  4. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments to ensure continuous improvement.
  5. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in nursing education to ensure our staff are receiving the most up-to-date and relevant training.
  6. Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the nursing department.
  7. Serve as a mentor and resource for nursing staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  8. Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, such as universities and professional organizations, to leverage resources and opportunities for our nursing staff.
  9. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements related to nursing education and professional development.
  10. Serve as a role model for excellence in nursing practice and leadership, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field: A Nursing Professional Development Practitioner At Highmark Health Should Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field. This Education Provides The Foundational Knowledge And Skills Necessary To Excel In This Role.

  • Active Nursing License: A Valid And Active Nursing License Is A Mandatory Requirement For This Position. This Ensures That The Practitioner Is Up-To-Date With Current Nursing Practices And Regulations.

  • Certification In Professional Development: Highmark Health Values Continuous Learning And Development. Therefore, Candidates Should Have A Certification In Professional Development, Such As Certified Professional In Healthcare Quality (Cphq) Or Certified Nurse Educator (Cne).

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Nursing Experience: To Be Able To Effectively Guide And Mentor Other Nurses, A Nursing Professional Development Practitioner Should Have A Minimum Of 3 Years Of Nursing Experience. This Experience Provides The Necessary Clinical Knowledge And Expertise To Support The Professional Development Of Other Nurses.

  • Strong Communication And Leadership Skills: The Role Of A Nursing Professional Development Practitioner Involves Working Closely With Other Nurses And Healthcare Professionals. Therefore, Strong Communication And Leadership Skills Are Essential. This Ensures Effective Collaboration And The Ability To Lead And Inspire Others In Their Professional Development Journey.
