  1. Maintain and update accurate medical records for patients in accordance with company and legal guidelines.
  2. Ensure timely and efficient retrieval of medical records for healthcare providers and other authorized personnel.
  3. Organize and file incoming medical records in a secure and confidential manner.
  4. Monitor and track medical records to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  5. Communicate with healthcare providers and other staff to obtain missing information and resolve discrepancies in medical records.
  6. Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  7. Utilize electronic health record systems to input and retrieve patient information.
  8. Assist with coding and indexing medical records for billing and reimbursement purposes.
  9. Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless record-keeping processes.
  10. Participate in quality assurance initiatives to ensure accurate and complete medical records.
  11. Train and support new employees on medical records procedures and standards.
  12. Stay informed of industry changes and updates related to medical record-keeping and implement necessary changes to improve processes.
  13. Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families when handling medical record requests.
  14. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow safety protocols.
  15. Uphold the mission and values of Highmark Health in all job duties and interactions with patients and colleagues.
