As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our physicians and nurses in providing care to patients undergoing transplant procedures.   1. Assist physicians and nurses in providing care to patients undergoing transplant procedures.
  2. Take vital signs and record patient information accurately and efficiently.
  3. Prepare and maintain exam rooms and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning.
  4. Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers.
  5. Assist with minor procedures, such as wound care and suture removal.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to provide excellent customer service and support.
  7. Schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, and assist with patient follow-up.
  8. Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of all medical information.
  9. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  10. Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and growth to enhance knowledge and skills.
  11. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving patient care and workflow.
  12. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and families during difficult and stressful situations.
  13. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic and comprehensive care for patients.
  14. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  15. Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Highmark Health through your work ethic and interactions with patients and colleagues.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Medical Assistant (Cma) Or Registered Medical Assistant (Rma) Credential From An Accredited Organization.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Working In A Transplant Setting, Preferably With Solid Organ Transplants.

  • Knowledge Of Transplant Procedures And Medications, Including Immunosuppressants And Rejection Management.

  • Familiarity With Electronic Medical Records And Transcription Software.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment.
