- Conduct thorough inspections of all Highmark Health facilities to identify potential safety hazards and risks.
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to mitigate identified risks and ensure compliance with all relevant life safety codes and regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits to assess the effectiveness of current safety measures and make recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and ensure all employees are aware and trained on safety protocols.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans for all facilities, including conducting drills and training exercises to ensure preparedness.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and changes in safety regulations to continuously improve safety protocols and procedures.
- Investigate and report any safety incidents or near misses, and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Communicate and coordinate with local authorities and emergency responders in the event of an emergency.
- Provide training and education to employees on safety procedures, emergency response plans, and other relevant topics.
- Maintain accurate records of all safety inspections, audits, and training activities.
- Collaborate with other safety professionals and attend industry conferences to stay informed on the latest developments in life safety.
- Act as a point of contact for any safety-related concerns or questions from employees, patients, or visitors.
- Assist with the development and management of the life safety budget.
- Conduct research and recommend new safety equipment or technology to improve safety measures.
- Continuously monitor and assess the effectiveness of safety protocols and make necessary adjustments to ensure the highest level of safety for all individuals within Highmark Health facilities.
Bachelor's Degree In Occupational Health And Safety, Fire Science, Or Related Field.
Certification In Life Safety Code And Nfpa 101.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably With Knowledge Of Joint Commission And Cms Regulations.
Experience Conducting Life Safety Surveys And Developing Emergency Response Plans.
Strong Communication, Organization, And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Lead And Train Others In Emergency Procedures.
