- Conduct comprehensive assessments of member health status to identify potential risk factors and develop appropriate care plans.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement strategies for managing and mitigating risk for members.
- Utilize evidence-based guidelines and best practices to guide decision-making and promote quality care for members.
- Monitor and track member progress and outcomes, making adjustments to care plans as necessary to ensure optimal results.
- Communicate with members, families, and caregivers to educate them on risk management strategies and promote self-management of health conditions.
- Serve as a resource for providers, offering guidance and support on risk management strategies and best practices.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of member interactions and care plans.
- Act as an advocate for members, ensuring their needs are met and their voices are heard within the healthcare system.
- Stay current on industry trends and updates related to risk management and healthcare regulations, incorporating this knowledge into daily practice.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in the development of new programs and processes to enhance member outcomes.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards, maintaining confidentiality and privacy of member information at all times.
Degree In Healthcare Management Or Related Field: A Qualified Excess Risk Managed Care Clinician At Highmark Health Should Possess A Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Healthcare Management, Public Health, Or A Related Field.
Experience In Risk Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In Risk Management, Preferably In A Managed Care Setting. This Includes Experience In Identifying, Assessing, And Managing Risks Related To Healthcare Delivery, Insurance, And Financial Outcomes.
Knowledge Of Managed Care Industry: A Strong Understanding Of The Managed Care Industry And Its Regulations Is Crucial For This Role. The Candidate Should Have Knowledge Of Payment Methodologies, Quality Improvement Initiatives, And Healthcare Laws And Regulations.
Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: As An Excess Risk Managed Care Clinician, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Analyzing Complex Data, Identifying Potential Risks, And Developing Strategies To Mitigate Them. Therefore, Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills Are Essential For Success In This Role.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: This Position Requires Strong Communication Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Various Stakeholders, Including Healthcare Providers, Insurance Agencies, And Government Entities. The Candidate Should Also Have Excellent Interpersonal Skills To Build Relationships And Negotiate Contracts With External Partners.
