
Director Cytogenetics
Highmark Health is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Director of Cytogenetics to join our team and lead our cytogenetic laboratory. The Director of Cytogenetics will be responsible for overseeing the clinical work, personnel management, and operational activities of the laboratory. To be successful in this position, you must have a Doctoral degree in Molecular Genetics, Human Genetics, or a related field; at least 10 years of clinical laboratory experience; and at least 5 years of leadership experience in a cytogenetics laboratory setting. You must also have a thorough knowledge of laboratory operations, regulatory requirements, and industry standards for cytogenetic testing.The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with colleagues in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities:
- Oversee clinical work, personnel management, and operational activities in the cytogenetic laboratory.
- Ensure laboratory operations, regulatory requirements, and industry standards for cytogenetic testing are met.
- Develop policies and procedures to ensure the laboratory is compliant with all applicable regulations and industry standards.
- Train and mentor laboratory staff in the proper techniques for performing cytogenetic tests.
- Develop and monitor quality assurance protocols for the laboratory.
- Collaborate with other departments and personnel to ensure the highest quality of patient care.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to laboratory operations.
- Monitor and analyze laboratory performance data to identify areas for improvement.
- Utilize data analysis to make informed decisions regarding laboratory operations and personnel management.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external organizations and vendors.
Bachelor's Degree In A Scientific Field
Minimum Of Years Of Clinical Experience In A Molecular/Cytogenetic Laboratory
Experience In Clinical Operations And Management
Familiarity With International Cytogenetic Standards And Regulations
Experience In Personnel Management
