Job Description

Highmark Health is looking for a dedicated Diet Technician to join our team and help our patients maintain their health and nutrition. The ideal candidate will have experience in nutrition counseling and a passion for helping others. As a Diet Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring the nutritional intake of patients, providing nutritional education and counseling, and creating nutrition plans that are tailored to the individual needs of each patient.Qualifications include completion of a dietetic technician program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) and registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). In addition, candidate must possess excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the ability to work well independently and in a team environment. Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor patients' nutritional intake and create personalized nutrition plans tailored to their individual needs.
  2. Provide nutritional counseling and education to patients.
  3. Maintain records and documentation of patients' nutritional progress.
  4. Establish and maintain working relationships with patients, families, and care teams.
  5. Develop and implement interventions that help patients reach their health and nutrition goals.
  6. Evaluate patient progress and adjust nutrition plans as needed.
  7. Participate in team meetings and other relevant meetings.
  8. Follow all laws and regulations related to dietetic practice.
  9. Stay up-to-date with nutritional guidelines and best practices.
  10. Perform administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, ordering supplies, and updating patient records.
