- Providing Quality Patient Care: The dental hygienist will be responsible for providing high-quality dental services to patients at Allegheny General Hospital's Dental Medicine department. This includes performing routine dental cleanings, screenings, and other preventive procedures.
- Maintaining Hygiene Standards: The dental hygienist will be responsible for maintaining and adhering to all hygiene standards set by the organization and regulatory bodies. This includes following proper infection control protocols, sterilization of equipment, and maintaining a hygienic work environment.
- Assessing and Documenting Patient's Dental Health: The dental hygienist will be responsible for conducting thorough dental assessments and documenting patient's oral health status. This includes charting dental conditions, taking and developing x-rays, and recording treatment plans.
- Educating Patients on Oral Health: The dental hygienist will be responsible for educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and nutrition. They will also provide guidance on post-operative care and answer any questions or concerns patients may have.
- Collaborating with the Dental Team: The dental hygienist will work closely with dentists, dental assistants, and other members of the dental team to ensure seamless and efficient patient care. This includes communicating findings, assisting with procedures, and collaborating on treatment plans.
- Maintaining Patient Records: The dental hygienist will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and referrals. This includes using electronic health records and ensuring confidentiality of patient information.

Valid State License: The Candidate Must Possess A Current And Valid License To Practice As A Dental Hygienist In The State Where The Job Is Located.
Bachelor's Degree In Dental Hygiene: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Dental Hygiene From An Accredited Institution Is Required For This Position.
Cpr Certification: The Candidate Must Be Certified In Basic Life Support (Bls) And Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (Cpr) From A Recognized Provider.
Relevant Experience: A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Working As A Dental Hygienist Is Preferred, With A Strong Understanding Of Dental Procedures And Techniques.
Strong Communication Skills: Excellent Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, Are Essential For This Role. The Candidate Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Dentists, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
