  1. Accurately code outpatient medical records according to established coding guidelines and standards.
  2. Ensure compliance with all relevant coding regulations and requirements.
  3. Review and analyze medical records to identify and assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services.
  4. Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies.
  5. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure accurate and complete coding.
  6. Stay up-to-date on coding guidelines and changes in regulations to maintain accurate coding practices.
  7. Maintain confidentiality and security of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  8. Participate in coding audits and provide support for any audit findings.
  9. Identify opportunities for process improvement and make recommendations to enhance coding accuracy and efficiency.
  10. Adhere to the organization's ethical standards and coding policies.
  11. Attend training sessions and workshops to further develop coding skills and knowledge.
  12. Work efficiently and effectively to meet coding productivity standards.
  13. Maintain accurate and organized records of coded medical records.
  14. Provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders, including patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
  15. Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment within the coding team and the larger healthcare organization.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science Or Related Field

  • Proficient In Icd-10, Cpt, And Hcpcs Coding Systems

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Coding For Outpatient Services

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Anatomy

  • Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Or Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Certification Preferred
