Job Description

Highmark Health is looking for an experienced, dynamic Category Manager to join our team. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives and managing supplier relationships. The successful candidate is someone who is self-motivated and has a proven track record in delivering cost savings, process improvements, and customer service excellence.The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in business, economics, supply chain management, or a related field, alongside 3+ years of purchasing experience in a corporate setting. They must have a comprehensive understanding of procurement processes, and the ability to analyze data and develop strategic sourcing plans. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are also essential, as is the ability to collaborate and influence key stakeholders throughout the organization.The Category Manager will support the delivery of Highmark Health's strategic goals, while delivering cost savings and process improvements through the strategic sourcing process. This individual will be a creative problem-solver, with a passion for driving results and delivering value to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives and manage supplier relationships.
  2. Analyze data and develop strategic sourcing plans.
  3. Negotiate with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
  4. Develop and implement efficient procurement processes.
  5. Monitor supplier performance and ensure customer service excellence.
  6. Collaborate and influence key stakeholders throughout the organization.
  7. Ensure delivery of Highmark Health’s strategic goals.
  8. Monitor market trends to identify opportunities to optimize procurement processes.
  9. Manage supplier contracts and ensure compliance with contract terms.
  10. Maintain accurate records of procurement activities.
