Job Description

Highmark Health is seeking a passionate and dedicated Cardiac Monitor Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate is highly organized, professional, and has a background in cardiac monitoring. In this role, you will be responsible for providing cardiac monitoring services to patients in accordance with Highmark Health's standards and procedures.To be successful in this role, you must possess excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a keen understanding of the cardiac monitoring process. In addition to a high school diploma or equivalent, you must have a minimum of two years of experience as a Cardiac Monitor Technician, or in a related field. Knowledge of medical terminology and electrocardiography (EKG) is also required. A Cardiac Monitor Technician Certification is preferred but not required. Responsibilites:

  1. Monitor cardiac activity of patients according to Highmark Health standards and procedures.
  2. Provide accurate and timely documentation of patient data.
  3. Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of cardiac monitoring equipment.
  4. Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other health care providers.
  6. Assist with patient assessments and diagnosis as needed.
  7. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  8. Administer EKGs and other cardiac tests as needed.
  9. Educate patients and families about cardiac monitoring processes.
  10. Remain up to date on new developments in cardiac monitoring technology.
