  1. Conduct thorough and accurate abstraction of medical records in accordance with established guidelines and protocols.
  2. Review and analyze medical records to ensure completeness and accuracy of information.
  3. Identify and report any discrepancies in medical records to appropriate personnel.
  4. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive medical information.
  5. Communicate effectively with healthcare providers to obtain missing or additional information.
  6. Utilize electronic health record systems and other software to perform data abstraction tasks.
  7. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of abstraction tasks.
  8. Participate in training and education programs to stay updated on industry standards and best practices.
  9. Proactively identify areas for process improvement and suggest solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  10. Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all abstractions performed.
  11. Follow company policies and procedures to ensure compliance and quality standards are met.
  12. Demonstrate a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding, and documentation guidelines.
  13. Handle multiple tasks and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  14. Work independently with minimal supervision, while also being a team player.
  15. Stay informed about industry trends and changes in regulations related to data abstraction.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Business, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Medical Record Review Or Abstraction.

  • Strong Understanding Of Healthcare Regulations, Including Hipaa And Hedis Measures.

  • Ability To Accurately And Efficiently Abstract Medical Information From Various Sources, Including Electronic Health Records And Paper Charts.

  • Excellent Organizational Skills And Attention To Detail, With The Ability To Effectively Manage And Prioritize Multiple Projects And Deadlines.
