  1. Develop and maintain test automation frameworks and tools for the SONiC network operating system.
  2. Design and execute test plans and test cases to ensure the quality and functionality of the SONiC software.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and identify areas for test automation.
  4. Troubleshoot and debug issues found during testing, and work with development teams to resolve them.
  5. Continuously improve and optimize existing test processes and methodologies.
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in network automation and testing.
  7. Document and communicate test results and recommendations to stakeholders.
  8. Actively participate in code reviews and provide feedback for improvements.
  9. Proactively identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  10. Mentor and train junior team members on testing methodologies and tools.
  11. Contribute to the overall improvement of the SONiC network operating system through feedback and suggestions.
  12. Collaborate with product management and other teams to understand customer needs and ensure products meet their requirements.
  13. Participate in agile development processes and meetings.
  14. Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
  15. Maintain a positive and collaborative team environment.

Job Qualifications

  • Strong Understanding Of Network Protocols And Architectures: A Sonic Test Framework Engineer Should Have A Deep Knowledge Of Network Protocols Such As Bgp, Ospf, And Vxlan, As Well As An Understanding Of Modern Network Architectures Such As Leaf-Spine.

  • Proficiency In Programming And Scripting Languages: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience With Programming Languages Like Python, C++, And Java, As Well As Scripting Languages Like Bash And Perl. This Is Necessary For Developing And Maintaining Automated Test Scripts.

  • Familiarity With Sonic And Open Networking: A Strong Understanding Of The Sonic Operating System And Open Networking Concepts Is Essential For This Role. This Includes Knowledge Of Hardware Abstraction, Network Disaggregation, And The Use Of Open Source Tools.

  • Experience With Test Methodologies And Tools: The Candidate Should Have Experience With Various Testing Methodologies, Such As Functional, Regression, And Performance Testing. They Should Also Be Familiar With Test Automation Tools And Frameworks Like Robot Framework, Pytest, And Selenium.

  • Excellent Troubleshooting And Problem-Solving Skills: A Sonic Test Framework Engineer Should Be Able To Quickly Identify And Troubleshoot Complex Issues In A Sonic-Based Network Environment. They Should Also Have A Strong Ability To Analyze And Interpret Test Results To Identify And Address Any Potential Issues.
