  1. Develop and implement sustainable packaging strategies that align with Hershey's environmental goals and objectives.
  2. Conduct research and stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in packaging materials to continuously improve Hershey's packaging operations.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development and sustainability, to ensure packaging materials are aligned with product specifications and sustainability goals.
  4. Evaluate existing packaging materials and make recommendations for improvements in terms of cost, efficiency, and sustainability.
  5. Source and test new packaging materials to ensure they meet quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
  6. Monitor and track packaging material inventory levels to ensure timely procurement and minimize waste.
  7. Manage relationships with packaging material suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
  8. Develop and maintain packaging material specifications and documentation to ensure consistency and compliance with Hershey's standards.
  9. Train and educate team members on proper handling and usage of packaging materials to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  10. Monitor and analyze packaging material performance and provide insights and recommendations for improvement.
  11. Troubleshoot packaging material issues and work with suppliers to resolve any quality or supply chain issues.
  12. Stay informed on industry regulations and standards related to packaging materials and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  13. Develop and maintain metrics and reports to track packaging material usage, costs, and sustainability metrics.
  14. Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to drive continuous improvement and innovation in packaging materials and processes.
  15. Proactively identify and implement cost-saving opportunities within the packaging materials supply chain.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Packaging Materials Development, Preferably In The Food Industry.

  • Strong Understanding Of Packaging Materials Properties, Including Barrier Properties, Sustainability, And Cost Efficiency.

  • Knowledge Of Packaging Regulations And Standards, Such As Fda Guidelines And Iso Certifications.

  • Proficiency In Packaging Design Software, Such As Artioscad Or Solidworks, And Familiarity With Packaging Testing Equipment.
