- Perform diagnostic vascular ultrasound procedures accurately and efficiently, including carotid, arterial, venous, and abdominal studies.
- Operate and maintain advanced ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper functioning and safety protocols are followed.
- Collaborate with physicians to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases, providing accurate and timely ultrasound results.
- Maintain patient records and documentation in accordance with established protocols and HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on procedures and provide clear and concise instructions for preparation and aftercare.
- Monitor patients for any adverse reactions during procedures and respond appropriately.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and report any malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives to maintain and improve the accuracy and efficiency of ultrasound procedures.
- Stay up-to-date on current trends and advancements in vascular ultrasound technology and techniques.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and departments to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards set by the healthcare organization.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Attend training and educational opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Act as a mentor and provide guidance and training to new ultrasound technicians.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Completion Of An Accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Completed A Two-Year Associate's Degree Or A Four-Year Bachelor's Degree Program In Diagnostic Medical Sonography From An Accredited Institution.
Ardms Certification: The Candidate Must Hold A Valid Certification From The American Registry For Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ardms) In Vascular Sonography.
Experience In Vascular Ultrasound: A Minimum Of Two Years Of Experience In Performing Vascular Ultrasound Examinations Is Preferred. This Should Include Experience In Performing Carotid, Venous, Arterial, And Abdominal Vascular Exams.
Knowledge Of Vascular Anatomy And Physiology: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Vascular Anatomy And Physiology, And Be Able To Recognize And Differentiate Normal And Abnormal Findings On Ultrasound Images.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Candidate Must Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. They Should Also Be Able To Explain Procedures And Findings To Patients In A Clear And Compassionate Manner.
