  1. Perform high-quality ultrasound procedures on patients according to established protocols and physician orders.
  2. Ensure patient safety and comfort by maintaining a clean and organized work environment, properly positioning patients, and using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  3. Accurately record and document patient information, including medical history, symptoms, and any relevant observations.
  4. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely diagnostic information.
  5. Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  6. Keep up-to-date with current ultrasound technology, techniques, and protocols through continuing education and training.
  7. Provide patient education and explanation of procedures to alleviate any concerns or fears.
  8. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  9. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in maintaining accreditation standards.
  11. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure a positive patient experience.
  12. Maintain a professional demeanor and display empathy and compassion towards patients and their families.
  13. Adhere to departmental policies and procedures and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
  14. Assist in the training and supervision of new ultrasound technicians.
  15. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Ultrasound Technologist: As An Ultrasound Technologist At Henry Ford Health System, Candidates Must Have A Valid Certification In Ultrasound Technology From A Recognized Institution. This Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Perform The Job Effectively.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Diagnostic Medical Sonography: A Bachelor's Degree In Diagnostic Medical Sonography Or A Related Field Is Highly Preferred For This Position. This Educational Background Provides A Strong Foundation In Anatomy, Physiology, And Patient Care, Which Are Essential For A Successful Ultrasound Technologist.

  • Experience In A Clinical Setting: Candidates Must Have At Least One Year Of Experience Working In A Clinical Setting Performing General And Specialized Ultrasound Procedures. This Experience Demonstrates The Candidate's Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced And High-Pressure Environment While Maintaining Accuracy And Efficiency.

  • Proficient In Ultrasound Equipment And Technology: A Strong Understanding Of Ultrasound Equipment And Technology Is Crucial For This Role. Candidates Should Be Familiar With A Variety Of Ultrasound Machines And Be Able To Troubleshoot Technical Issues As They Arise.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Ultrasound Technologist, Candidates Will Work Closely With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Establishing Rapport With Patients And Collaborating Effectively With The Healthcare Team.
