- Perform high-quality ultrasound procedures on patients according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort by maintaining a clean and organized work environment, properly positioning patients, and using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Accurately record and document patient information, including medical history, symptoms, and any relevant observations.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely diagnostic information.
- Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
- Keep up-to-date with current ultrasound technology, techniques, and protocols through continuing education and training.
- Provide patient education and explanation of procedures to alleviate any concerns or fears.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in maintaining accreditation standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure a positive patient experience.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and display empathy and compassion towards patients and their families.
- Adhere to departmental policies and procedures and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
- Assist in the training and supervision of new ultrasound technicians.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Certified Ultrasound Technologist: As An Ultrasound Technologist At Henry Ford Health System, Candidates Must Have A Valid Certification In Ultrasound Technology From A Recognized Institution. This Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Perform The Job Effectively.
Bachelor's Degree In Diagnostic Medical Sonography: A Bachelor's Degree In Diagnostic Medical Sonography Or A Related Field Is Highly Preferred For This Position. This Educational Background Provides A Strong Foundation In Anatomy, Physiology, And Patient Care, Which Are Essential For A Successful Ultrasound Technologist.
Experience In A Clinical Setting: Candidates Must Have At Least One Year Of Experience Working In A Clinical Setting Performing General And Specialized Ultrasound Procedures. This Experience Demonstrates The Candidate's Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced And High-Pressure Environment While Maintaining Accuracy And Efficiency.
