- Provide exceptional patient care: The Respiratory Therapy Extern will be responsible for delivering exceptional care to patients, adhering to the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team: The extern will work closely with the experienced respiratory therapists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination of care for patients.
- Assist with respiratory procedures: The extern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience by assisting with various respiratory procedures, including administering medications, performing breathing treatments, and monitoring patients' respiratory status.

Completion Of An Accredited Respiratory Therapy Program: Candidates For The Respiratory Therapy Extern Position At Henry Ford Health System Must Have Successfully Completed An Accredited Respiratory Therapy Program, Demonstrating A Strong Foundation In The Field.
Current Cpr And Bls Certification: As A Healthcare Organization, Henry Ford Health System Requires All Employees, Including Externs, To Have Current Cpr And Bls Certifications. This Ensures That Candidates Are Prepared To Respond To Emergency Situations.
Ability To Obtain A Temporary Respiratory Care Practitioner (Rcp) License In The State Of Michigan: Candidates Must Be Able To Obtain A Temporary Rcp License From The State Of Michigan In Order To Practice Respiratory Therapy At Henry Ford Health System Facilities.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Respiratory Therapy Extern Will Work Closely With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Professionals, So Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Success In This Role.
