  1. Develop and implement educational programs and initiatives to enhance the knowledge and skills of nursing staff in the surgical services department.
  2. Serve as a mentor and role model to nursing staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development and growth.
  3. Conduct thorough assessments of individual learning needs and create personalized education plans to address any knowledge or skill gaps.
  4. Utilize a variety of teaching methods and strategies to effectively deliver educational content and engage learners.
  5. Collaborate with nursing managers and leadership to identify areas of improvement and develop targeted education programs to address any deficiencies.
  6. Stay current with industry standards and best practices in surgical nursing and incorporate this knowledge into educational programs.
  7. Provide ongoing support and resources to nursing staff to reinforce learning and promote continuous improvement.
  8. Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for nursing staff, answering questions and providing guidance on complex surgical procedures and protocols.
  9. Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the surgical services department.
  10. Participate in the hiring and onboarding process for new nursing staff, ensuring they receive proper education and training to succeed in their roles.
  11. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of education programs, making adjustments as needed to ensure desired outcomes are met.
  12. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop interdisciplinary educational opportunities and promote a team-based approach to patient care.
  13. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of educational activities and outcomes for reporting purposes.
  14. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures and maintain ethical and professional standards at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Rn Licensure In The State Of Michigan

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing, Master's Degree Preferred

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Surgical Services

  • Teaching Or Preceptor Experience In A Clinical Setting

  • Certification In Perioperative Nursing (Cnor) Preferred
