Job Description

Henry Ford Health System is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Device Clinic team. In this role, you will provide high-quality care to patients with cardiovascular devices, such as pacemakers and defibrillators.   1. Provide high-quality care to patients with cardiovascular devices, such as pacemakers and defibrillators.
  2. Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on patient needs and device specifications.
  3. Monitor patients' vital signs and device function, and promptly report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare providers.
  4. Educate patients and their families about their devices, including proper use, potential complications, and signs of device malfunction.
  5. Collaborate with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.
  6. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and document all care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
  7. Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards.
  8. Serve as a resource for patients and their families, addressing any questions or concerns they may have about their devices and care.
  9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing evidence-based practices to enhance patient care.
  10. Stay current on advancements in cardiovascular devices and related technology, and incorporate new knowledge into practice as appropriate.
  11. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, including those related to patient privacy and confidentiality.
  12. Act as a patient advocate, ensuring that patients' rights and preferences are respected and their needs are met.
  13. Foster a positive and professional working environment, promoting teamwork and collaboration with colleagues.
  14. Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, trainings, and continuing education opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Rn License: The First And Most Important Qualification For A Registered Nurse - Device Clinic At Henry Ford Health System Is A Valid Rn License In The State Of Michigan. This Ensures That The Nurse Has Met The Necessary Education And Training Requirements To Provide Safe And Effective Patient Care.

  • Experience In Cardiac Care: Candidates For This Position Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience Working In A Cardiac Care Setting, Such As A Cardiac Unit Or Cardiac Catheterization Lab. This Experience Will Provide A Strong Foundation For Understanding And Managing Patients With Cardiac Devices.

  • Knowledge Of Cardiac Devices: A Strong Understanding Of Various Cardiac Devices, Such As Pacemakers, Defibrillators, And Cardiac Monitors, Is Essential For This Job. Candidates Should Have Experience In Device Programming, Troubleshooting, And Follow-Up Care.

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: As A Nurse In A Device Clinic, It Is Important To Be Prepared For Any Emergency Situations That May Arise. Bls Certification Ensures That The Nurse Is Trained In Basic Life-Saving Techniques And Is Able To Respond Quickly And Effectively In Case Of A Cardiac Emergency.

  • Detail-Oriented And Organized: The Role Of A Device Clinic Nurse Involves Managing A Large Volume Of Patient Data, Including Device Settings, Medications, And Follow-Up Appointments. Candidates Should Possess Strong Organizational Skills And Attention To Detail To Ensure Accurate And Timely Documentation Of Patient Care.
